LAHORE: Supreme Court of Pakistan getting annoyed on non-cooperation has directed Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan to appoint competent legal advisers for cooperation in FBR cases which are piling up overtime.
According to the details, a two-member bench of Supreme Court Lahore registry under the supervision of Justice Saqib Nisar heard a case filed by the FBR against Eden Society in which the decision of Lahore High Court (LHC) has been challenged. The chairman appeared before the court and extended excuse on the situation.
During the hearing, honourable justice remarked that the advisors of FBR were not cooperating with the court in all legal matters due to which number of pending cases are increasing.
He further observed that the FBR chairman was not aware of all matters, adding that millions of rupees are stuck due to the negligence of the legal advisors.
On the other side, Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan informed the court that the board will take stern action against the advisor in light of current scenario, adding that earlier, the FBR has dismissed various advisors.
After hearing the arguments of FBR chairman, the court adjourned the case and ordered him to appoint legal advisers for the legal assistance of the court within two months.
