Directorate General of Transit Trade seeks valid documents for bonded carriers

KARACHI: Directorate General of Transit Trade has sought valid and complete documents of the bonded carriers using Pak-Afghan route for transit trade.

The Directorate General of Transit Trade on the advice of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sought all the valid and complete documents of the bonded carriers that transport goods for Afghanistan.

Source informed Customs Today that dozens of bonded carrier organizations are registered with the Pakistan Customs for which more effective and tightened security with regards to retrograde containers has been advised. Such practice has not been imposed due to which many retrograde containers are lost. Now all the organizations have started compiling the documents of the bonded carriers, added source.

As many bonded carriers are on the different routes carrying goods from Afghanistan to Pakistan and Pakistan to Afghanistan the compilation process of the documents on the given time frame seems not possible. It is expected that the bonded carrier organizations will seek more time from the Directorate General Transit Trade to submit the said documents, the source further stated.
