ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), on the direction of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, will brief the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Panama Papers today.
According to an FBR official, the finance minister issued special directive while presiding over a meeting. The revenue authority would share the details of its action of issuing notices to the Pakistani citizens allegedly involved in Panama Papers revelation, he added.
Last week, FBR Chairman Nisar Khan refused to brief the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance about the Panama Papers saying this issue was not included in the agenda of the meeting.
However, the finance minister has asked the FBR officials to attend the PAC meeting to give briefing on the Panama leaks.
