ADC Beelam issues show cause notice in impounded vehicle case

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam ur Ramzan issued show cause notice to accused person allegedly involved in smuggling of Toyota Hilux .

As per the details, Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded Toyota Hilux  bearing Registration No.KV – 017- ICT during an intelligence-based operation near Gatwala Toll Plaza, Faisalabad.

During the checking of vehicles, the Customs Intelligence team signalled to stop a Toyota Hilux but the driver escape from the spot taking advantages of the darkness. The customs intelligence officials impounded the vehicle and efforts were made to trace the driver .

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file  reply by given time.  The cases of vehicle might be decided in the next hearing.

Meanwhile, Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed also served a show cause notice on accused person allegedly involved in smuggling of Toyota Corolla car.

As per details, Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded the car bearing Registration No. A-5818 following credible information near MM Road, Mianwali after the driver named Ghazanfar Ali failed to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. However, the adjudication has directed to file their replies by given time, which is also last date of hearing.
