Nowshera ASO impounds 4 non-duty paid vehicles, smuggled goods

ISLAMABAD: Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Nowshera impounded smuggled goods and 4 non-duty paid vehicles under value of  Rs13.77 million from  5th to 18th September.

Deputy Collector ASO Muhammad Amin told Customs Today that Nowshera ASO showing outstanding performance in curbing smuggling activities in the region.

He said that ASO squad performed their duties round the clock during Eid holidays.  He added that during the above said period ASO conducted five big raids and confiscates huge quantity of foreign origin goods.

Deputy Collector Amin said that during first operation ASO team seized cloth under of Rs 1,050,000. The cloth was being smuggled via Suzuki Mehran which was also impounded.

In the second raid ASO seized miscellaneous goods under value of Rs 3,321,260 the goods were smuggled by a passenger bus which was also seized under Custom act of 157, the value of confiscated vehicle was Rs 5,000,000.

In third raid the ASO seized cloth under value of Rs 157,500, and in forth raid the ASO seized cloth under value of Rs 682,500 that smuggled fabric was loaded in a Daewoo racer car which was also confiscated, the value of that car was Rs 500,000.

The ASO Nowshera made fifth raid of foreign origin fabric under value of Rs 760,125 the said fabric was trying to smuggled through a Toyota Corolla car, the ASO also confiscated the offending vehicle under value of Rs 1,500,000.

The deputy collector said that the total value of four non customs paid vehicles is Rs 7,800,000 and the total value of seized smuggled goods and and fabric is Rs 5,971,385.
