KATHMANDU: As the biggest Nepali festival Dashain is just round the corner, the Nepal Rastra Bank has called people willing to buy new banknotes for the grand festival to do so from its Currency Management Division or other financial institution from October 2. A member of the public can exchange as much as Rs 37,000 from the CMD counter after October 2. But, the same service would be available from other branches of the same bank as well as other banks from the same day.
Personnel from Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force and civil servants can get more notes upon submitting an official document, as per the availability. According to the central bank of Nepal, banks graded ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ as well as other financial institutions can exchange notes from the bank’s Thapathali-based CMD from September 25 to 30.
