Pakistan’s petroleum group imports decrease 13.61% during new FY

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s petroleum group imports diminished 13.61 percent amid the initial two months of the current fiscal year when contrasted with imports in the comparing time of the most recent year.

The country spent $1.48 billion on the import of petroleum group imports during the period from July-August as compared to the imports of $1.73 billion during the same period of the last financial year, according to the data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

During the period under review, imports of crude petroleum decreased 51.57 percent, as it was recorded at 1,116,203 million tons worth $304.257 million as compared to the imports of 915,726 million tons worth $628.217 million during the same period of the last year.

However, the imports of liquefied natural gas witnessed 115.54 percent increase in the first two months of the current financial year, as it imported LNG worth $167.938 million as against the imports of $77.915 million in the same period of the last year. Meanwhile, liquefied petroleum gas imports also grew 58.06 in the period under review, as the country spent $23.464 million on the import of the commodity as compared to the imports of $14.84 million during the same period of the last year.
