Deputy Collector Adjudication Asma hears 30 cases of smuggling

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed conducted hearing of 30 cases related to smuggling and tax evasion.

Sources told Customs Today, six cases were forwarded by Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali against Muhammad Akbar, Ghazanfar Ali, Muhammad Jameel while others Three un-claimed cases involving Toyota Passo, and Toyota Vitz Car, Mitsubishi Pajero also heard.

Six case were submitted by Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad against Abdul Samad, Habib Ullah, Zafar, Jawad, Imran and Rashid Khalid who are allegedly involved in using smuggled Toyota Corolla X car bearing registration No AAN-517, Suzuki Jimny Car JAF-257.

The deputy collector also heard two cases, which were submitted by Sargodha ASO in which a case of impounded Suzuki Jimny Seira bearing registration No LOQ- 1668 and another case of confiscated Hiace van No, LEI-16-2695 against Mansoor Arif Khan and Hafiz Zaigham Abbas.

The Faisalabad ASO filed four cases involving different smuggled items, including Toyota Hiace, old and used machinery, Honda Ariar, AS cloth. The cases were registered against Waqas Karamat, Abdul Rasheed, Muhammad Azeem, Muhammad Saleem, Ehsan ul Haq Ali.

Asma Hameed also heard five cases of Jhang ASO against Muhammad Saleem, Mazhar Abbas, Muhammad Azeem, and Muhammad Abbas who are allegedly involved in smuggling of tyres, tubes, Toyota Coaster, and Hino Ranger Mounted Milk Tanki, Toyota Vitzr.

After conducting hearing of cases, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed adjourned all cases until next dates. The deputy collector directed all relevant parties to make ensure their appearance during next date of hearing.
