Customs seizes fabric and one offending vehicle worth Rs1.7m

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Islamabad has seized fabric and one offending vehicle under value of Rs1.751 million.

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan said that the ASO team was on its routine patrolling at Peshawar to Lahore Motorway when the squad intercepted a Toyota Corolla car No PD-371ICT coming from Peshawar.

During the checking of vehicle the team recovered Jan said that last night Anti-Smuggling Organization seized foreign origin cloth in quantity of 63Kg under value of Rs 33075 included cotton fabric in quantity of 260 kg under value of Rs132,405 and also seized ladies fabric in quantity of 182 Kg under value of Rs83677.

The anti-smuggling squad asked the drivers to provide the relevant documents of loaded goods, but driver did not provided the relevant documents therefore the squad impounded the vehicles and fabrics.

Shahid Jan said that anti smuggling activity was monitoring from beginning of financial year 2016-17, and will get the desire results, as it got last financial year 2015-16 to make the surplus collection of revenue.

This successful seizer was conducted by supervision of superintend Nasir Barlas and Deputy Superintend Rana Shakeel and the sporting staff of ASO.
