TEHRAN: Iran’s worth of saffron exports during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-August 21) rose 5.7 percent compared to the same period of time in the previous year, according to Gholamreza Miri, the vice chairman of National Iranian Saffron Council.
The country exported $73 million worth of saffron during the mentioned time, IRIB news reported on Tuesday quoting Miri as saying. He said saffron as one of the major export-bound products of Iran plays prominent role in the country’s income from the non-oil exports.
