Customs to appoint focal persons at all collectorates

SIALKOT: The Pakistan Customs has made a plan to appoint focal person at all Model Customs Collectorates in the country to deal with the matters of public relations during duty hours.

Sources informed that the decision has been made by the higher authorities of the customs department in order to streamline the matters in this regard. A superintendent level officer will be appointed as focal person who will handle print and electronic, media and common people, besides checking activities of officials and other matters related to public relations.

The sources added that the appointed persons will also perform duty as superintendent of customs, besides looking after the matters of focal person.

The high ups have instructed all collectors to appoint superintendent level officer as focal person before the October 20, 2016 and send their names to Customs Member after their appointment, they added.

As per details, the collectors will arrange interviews of three superintendents in order to select a suitable one for the seat of focal person, the sources said, adding that the customs department will announce special stipend for selected candidates against the additional duty. The collector will be authorises to select three superintendents for interview of focal person.
