FIA arrests illegal money changer

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested a person allegedly involved in running currency exchange business illegally.

According to the details, a team in compliance of national action plan conducted a raid under the supervision of Gujranwala FIA acting Deputy Director Muhammad Sarwar to arrest the accused persons.

The team raided Sangam Currency Exchange GT Road, Kharian and recovered foreign currency, including 15 dirham 55 US rollar, 49 Saudi Riyal, 71 Norwegian corona, 50 Malaysian ringgit, 43 Kuwaiti dinar, 10 Canadian dollar, 368,570 Pakistani rupees.

During the raid, the official also arrested accused Munawar Hussain son of Muhammad Hanif resident of Mohallah Kabari Bazar Tehsil Kharian District Gujarat and registered case FIR No 830/2016 dated August 22, 2016 under section 23 (1) FER Act 1947 PS FIA Gujranwala.
