Customs Car Cell impounds non-duty paid Toyota Corolla

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Colletorate Car Cell has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Corolla car worth Rs 1.5 million. Sources of Customs Collectorate told Customs Today that the car cell received information that a non-duty paid vehicle is parked at F-11 sector.

In pursuance of information the car cell reached at F-11 area where car was parked. The custom staff impounded the vehicle, Toyota Corolla model 2010, having registration number AAA 746,.

The  squad ask the owner to produce legal documents regarding possession of the vehicle but the owner failed to show any relevant documents.

After investigation the squad found that said car’s documents were faked. The customs authorities impounded the vehicle under Customs Act 1969 section 16.

The sources said that FBR has issued special instructions to customs department to make appropriate steps to impound the non-duty paid vehicles.

It is learnt that FIR has been registered against the evaders against having a fake documents NDP vehicle and further investigations are under process the collector said.
