Islamabad Customs impounds 76 vehicles in first quarter of FY 2016-17

ISLAMABAD: Car cell of Islamabad Customs impounded 40 NDP vehicles while Anti smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded 36 offending vehicles during first quarter of financial year July to September 2016-17.

According to details told by sources of Customs Collectorate, Islamabad that on the special instruction of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) the ASO and car cell doing work with full devotion and getting handsome figure of revenue.

Sources said that through abduction of non-duty paid vehicles defiantly the department getting revenue but to seizers of the NDPs vehicles are also essential for prevention of security risks, the NDPs can use for terror activities the Sources said.

It is told that in month of September Customs Collectorate seized 6 non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs5 million some of them having tempered name plates but most of them were registration books were faked.

Customs officials said that the value of 40 impounded vehicles is Rs53.5 million all the said vehicles are impounded according to Customs laws. Officials also said that during first quarter July to September 2016-17 the ASO seized 36 offending vehicles worth Rs36.35 million.
