COLOMBO: The prices of all brands of cigarettes have been increased by Rs 7 with effect from midnight yesterday, Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake stated.
The increase comes after Cabinet earlier approved a proposal to impose 15% VAT on cigarettes as well as to a further increase on the production tax on cigarettes by Rs 5.
