Customs Court hears 16 important cases on Wednesday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 16 important cases on Wednesday and adjourned most of the cases until the next hearing.

On Wednesday, 16 cases of different types, including pre-arrest bail pleas filed by accused persons were scheduled for hearing. The court adjourned bail pleas of Fayaz Mehmood and Shahbaz until the next hearing. The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day.

A case of Rana Shaukat who is allegedly involved in plastic smuggling was also scheduled for the hearing but the court has adjourned the same for next week to record statements of witnesses. The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for the day.
