Customs car cell impounds non-duty paid Toyota Corolla

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Colletorate has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Corolla car 1994 model worth Rs 900,000.

Sources of Customs Collectorate Islamabad told Customs Today that the car cell received information from collector office that a non-duty paid vehicle is parked at F-8 Sector of the federal capital.

In pursuance of the information, the car cell reached F-8 area where the car was parked having registration number A-8366. The team asked the owner to produce legal documents regarding possession of the vehicle but the owner failed to show any relevant documents.

After investigation the squad found that said car’s documents were faked. Customs Superintendent Chaudhry Safdar and Inspector Khalid Samad impounded the vehicle under Customs Act 1969 section 16.

The sources said that FBR has issued special instructions to customs department to make appropriate steps to arrest the non-duty paid vehicles.
