LONDON: At least 90 days after the OS was released to HTC, it was expected that HTC One M8 would get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but it seems the company has delayed rolling out the OTA for the flagship.
After reports stated that the HTC One M8 would be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop last Friday, it seems the rollout couldn’t be started, even though we’ve seen screenshots of Sense and Lollipop running in unison on the flagship.
HTC has been working on Sense 6 in order to integrate it in the best way possible into Android 5.0 Lollipop and send it out to anxious HTC One M8 users. The new update and the upcoming HTC One M9 are the company’s attempt to get back in the saddle after dwindling revenues on the smartphone market. It seems Samsung has it worse, though, so HTC can calm down a bit and focus on creating a good phone and a good Sense 6 instead of rushing to release something that isn’t perfect. Since Android 5.0 Lollipop has its own bugs, we’re sure HTC would like the HTC One M8 OTA to be as stable as possible, and that’s probably why they’ve delayed the rollout until Google manages to fix the remaining problems with the mobile OS.
