FBR issues directions for achieving half yearly revenue targets

SIALKOT: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all chief collectors and collectors of customs in country to achieve half yearly target, which was assigned by the FBR till December 31, 2016.

Sources said that FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan has issued written directions to all officials instructing them to adopt effective strategies in order to meet the revenue targets, which are important to strengthen the national economy.

If any collectorate failed to achieve half yearly revenue targets, the FBR will take strict departmental action against responsible officers, the chairman warned

The FBR has also directed all collectorates to take stern action against defaulters for recovery of outstanding dues by attaching properties and banks accounts of defaulters. The officials were also asked to take assistance from police and other law enforcement agencies to take action against the defaulters, besides gathering information from Nadra.

It may be mentioned here that the collectors have already instructed to additional collectors, deputy collectors, assistant collectors, superintendents and other employees to achieve targets.

Officials said that the customs department was working hard to achieve target and recovered handsome amount from defaulters.
