ASO seizes 990kg clothes, LED TVs worth Rs 2.2m

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Model Customs Collectorate has seized huge quantity of foreign origin LED TVs and cloths worth Rs 2.278 million.

The ASO recovered 990 kilograms foreign origin fabric from a passenger bus on Rawalpindi-Peshawar road near Burhan.

The sources said that seizer was taken under the supervision of Deputy Superintend Rana Shakeel and Inspector Asif. Both the officers were patrolling on GT Road when they got information that a passenger bus coming from Peshawar was carrying a huge quantity of smuggled items.

During the checking of vehicles the ASO staff intercepted a passenger bus and recovered fabrics that were tactfully hide under the seats and on the roof top of bus. Customs officials asked the evaders to provide relevant documents of said smuggled goods but nothing produce regarding smuggled goods, so the staff seized the goods and send them to state ware house.

Sources adding that ASO seized foreign LED TV of 40” inches in quantity of 10 numbers the value of LED is Rs388500. ASO also seized in same seizer the different type and quality of fabrics under quantity of 490 kg in value of Rs257250, cloth 150 kg worth Rs763875, cloth in quantity of 200 kg under value of Rs105000, imported fabric in quantity of 150 kg amounting of Rs763875.
