As per details, M/s Tax Plus imported a consignment and got it clear vide GD No PRAF-HC-15074 declaring as 155 kilogramme of twist inserters. The Customs Intelligence intercepted the said consignment and found ring travelers instead of twist inserters.

There is a vast difference in valuation of both machinery parts, as twist inserters are assessable at $2/ kg and ring travelers are assessable at $67/kg.

When the Customs Intelligence carried out its investigation into the past, it found that the respondents had cleared 26 consignments of textile machinery parts during the period from April 23, 2012 to March 31, 2015. In all these consignments, M/s Tax Plus had declared these parts as twist inserters. The intelligence officials speculated if the parts declared as twist inserters in these 26 consignments could also be ring travelers like the parts in the seized consignment. Later, it sent the case to adjudication for further proceedings.

The value of textile machinery parts, both 2670.8kg ring travelers estimated at $ 67/kg and 846.2kg twist inserters at $2/kg, total valuing $180,636, imported in the seized consignment and in 26 consignments imported and cleared in the past.
