Dar directs FBR officials to make best efforts for achieving revenue target

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar Saturday directed the Federal Board of Revenue officials to put in the best efforts for achieving the annual revenue collection target.

The minister reviewed the revenue authority’s performance, while chairing a meeting, which was attended by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar, FBR Chairman FBR Nisar Mohammad Khan and senior officials from the Finance Ministry.

The FBR chairman briefed the finance minister about the strategy and measures being adopted for improvement in revenue collection for achieving the annual target of revenue collection assigned to the FBR. Nisar said that directives have been issued to the core team members to improve collections.

The minister emphasised on the importance of enhanced revenue collection in the background of country’s need for development and for achieving higher rate of inclusive and sustainable growth.
