The letter has been sent to fulfil future necessities in the wake of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as Sust border will be a gateway for the project.

Sources said that China was developing infrastructure on its side, but Planning Commission of Pakistan has not started working on PC-I yet despite the suggestions forwarded by the FBR.

According to the directorate, trade through the border was increasing day by day between both countries, while around 60,000 containers would pass through the border after CPEC; therefore, a large set up was required to handle the trade, the sources said.

They also confirmed that the FBR has also written letter to Ministry of Finance for releasing the funds, adding that working on the project would be started by the mid of next year.
