DUBAI: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched the Business Intelligence Information System (BIIS) smart platform, which aims to change the way business information is shared and used. The new platform gives users instant and easy access to important information about local and foreign businesses, enabling companies to research prospective partners and make more informed decisions.

Launched during the Chamber’s participation in Gitex Technology Week 2016, BIIS is a one-stop shop for intelligent information as it provides key data such as financial details and credit ratings. Users on the platform can access research reports and statistics covering exports, economic data by country, and product groups, among other topic areas. The system also features a Trusted Member Label for e-commerce platforms, enabling them to gain the confidence of potential clients and business partners.

Hamad Buamim, president and CEO, Dubai Chamber, stated that this revolutionary service is a valuable resource for businesses as it fills an information gap and gives them the tools to become more intelligent and efficient. He explained that BIIS will also enhance transparency within the local business community, and provide more reliable information about Dubai-based companies to foreign firms and investors, which is essential to securing trade partnerships.

Buamim added: “As part of its innovation strategy, the Chamber is working to create an intelligent business community which is capable of keeping pace with the emirate’s rapid economic development. This platform is the first of its kind in terms of resources that provide comprehensive access to corporate information. We are confident that it will improve the ease of doing business in the emirate and enhance its reputation as a leading global business hub.”

The launch of the platform follows Dubai Chamber’s innovation strategy announced last year which is focused on supporting creativity and innovative solutions in the private sector. The Chamber previously launched smart business and mediation applications as part of its efforts to build a fully-integrated mobile community and help its members connect to Dubai’s business community.
