Custom court directs jail authorities to release suspect involved in tax evasion

KARACHI: Custom Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has directed the superintendent central jail Karachi to release a suspect, Muhammad Hussain, after submitting surety bond of Rs 500,000. The suspect was arrested in a case of mis-declaration.

During the hearing, counsel for the applicant/ accused informed the court that the Sindh High Court (SHC) has granted bail to the applicant/ accused subject for furnishing surety in the sum of Rs 500, 000 with PR bond of the like amount to the satisfaction of this court.

At this movement, Riaz Ali S/O Muhammad Ali submitted required surety on the behalf of the applicant/ accused Muhammad Hussain which was accepted by custom court, after submitting surety amount court directed the jail authorities to release the accused person.

Court also directed the accused person to appear before the court dated November 03, 2016 for regular hearing, a case FIR no 22-EXP-/DCI/DIV-IV/ISAF/2015 of the mis-declaration was registered by the tax authorities as violation under section 156 (1) (8) (14) (45) (64) (86) and (89) of custom act, 1969.
