Peshawar Customs generates Rs 64.43m through auctions during Q1

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Collectorate Peshawar collected Rs 64.43 million through auctions during the first quarter (July-September) of FY 2016-17.

Additional Collector Fazle Samad told Customs Today that the entire staff of the Peshawar Customs showed outstanding performance during the first quarter of current fiscal year and collected a handsome amount of revenue.

He adding that during month of July 2016, the Collectorate collected customs duty on confiscated smuggled goods under value of Rs10.21 million and while Customs Peshawar collected Rs.1.80 million in shape of sales tax  and Rs1.60 million collected as additional income tax. He said the total collection through auction during month of July FY2016-17 was Rs13.61 million.

Additional collector told that during August, 2016, the Collectorate collected customs duty on confiscated smuggled goods through auction under value of Rs.14.66 million and collected ST amounting Rs.3.59 million.

The collection of AIT was c Rs.1.40 million and the collection of federal excise duty (FED) was under value of Rs.0.26 million, additional collector said that the total collection during the month of August in respect of all duty and taxes was Rs.19.91 million.

He further told that during September, FY2016-17, the Collectorate collected CD on confiscated smuggled goods through auction under value of Rs.22.15 million while Rs.5.63 million were collected as sales tax.

He adding that collection of AIT was collected under value of Rs.2.90 million and the collection of FED was under value of Rs.0.23 million, he added that the total collection during month of September 2016-17 in respect of all duty and taxes was Rs30.91 million. Ends
