The chief minister was told that unfit, too old and defective vehicles were plying on roads all over the province. Inspection in the government sector was not up to the mark and has lot of issues.

The government had decided to outsource the inspection and certification of vehicles, commercial, non-commercial and private, therefore some companies have shown interest into the project.

It was also informed to the chief minister that a sim would be installed in the number plate of each and every vehicle connected with the main data of Motor Vehicle Registration Wing of Excise & Taxation department. The scanning of the sim by police, traffic and any other forces would disclose the complete data of a vehicle, including ownership, tax paid, inspection done/due and such other data.

The chief minister directed Transport Minister Nasir Shah to put up proposal for approval of outsourcing of motor vehicle inspection. Otherwise, in principal he approved the proposal.
