Customs superintendents demands promotion to BS-17

SIALKOT: The Superintendents posted of Model Customs Collectorate, Sialkot, have demanded that the government should upgrade all superintendents from grade 16 to grade 17 because the Prime Minister has issued ordered for this.

Superintendent Muhammad Afzal Raza told Customs Today that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif issued orders for the upgradation of superintendents of Customs Department two years ago from grade 16 to grade 17 but the departmental employees recruitment and promotion committee is not ready to announce the upgradation.

He said that the up gradation is real right of employees and committee should upgrade all superintendents according to the orders of Prime Minister as soon as possible. Another Superintendent Muhammad Jaan said that the up gradation matter is in purview of said committee because the Prime Minister has announced for this purpose while the committee should implementation on this matter and upgrade all Superintendents from grade 16 to grade 17.

He said that the Prime Minister has announced and notification has already been issued for the purpose of up gradation whereas the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and higher authorities of Customs Department have delayed up gradation of Superintendents without any reason.
