Field formation Collectorates start to settle down audit-paras

KARACHI: The field formation of Customs Collectorate Appraisement West, East and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim have started to settle the audit paras costing million of rupees prepared and sent by the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs, it is learnt here.

The sources informed Customs Today that the collectors of all respective collectorates have asked to start working on settlement of audit paras, so that stuck-up revenue could be recovered by sending notices to the defaulters.

The sources further informed this scribe that the Director General of the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs Dr Owais Agha Jawwad has written a letter to the Federal Board of Revenue-FBR in which he stated that the audit paras of the Directorate General of Internal Audit –Customs have significant importance and those paras should be settled in order to generate revenue.

Reacting upon the said development, the FBR have immediately asked the field formation Collectorates to initiate working on settlement of the audit paras.

Replying to a query, the sources further said that Collectorates will soon complete their working in order to settle the audit paras.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs have prepared the audit paras related to the steel consignments and sent to the respective Collectorates by the end of last month.
