KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Quetta has seized a huge quantity of non-duty paid Iranian diesel while two persons were arrested during action.
Director Irfanur Rehman received information that some elements were planning to smuggle Iranian diesel from out of Quetta city. On this, he informed the anti-smuggling team and instructed them to curb the smuggling. The team formed check points at main entry and exit points of the city and started the checking of vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted an oil tanker. While the searching of the tanker the team found 18,000 litre Iranian oil. The Customs officials asked the driver to produce the legal documents of the tanker but he was failed to produce the same.
Therefore the customs officials seized the oil and arrested two men who were involved in smuggling. Officials said that the value of seized oil is more than Rs1.1 million in market.
