Customs Appellate Tribunal division bench to hear 10 references today

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Customs Appellate Tribunal (CAT) will hear 10 customs references on Monday (today)  filed against Directorate General of Investigation and Intelligence, Islamabad (DGI&I).

Customs Appellate Tribunal’s division bench headed by the Chairman Justice (r) Malik Manzoor Hussain and comprising another Member, Ziaudding Wazir would hear all the 10 cases.

These cases had been filed by M/s Waseem Autos, M/s Nisar Traders, M/s Parts & Parts, M/s Chief Autos, M/s Aman Elahi, M/s Kohinoor Traders, M/s Saleem Silk, M/s Malik Jehangir and M/s Pakistan Royal Group. M/s Kohinoor Traders had filed two separate references.

Hearing on the cases was pending owning to absence of tribunal’s chairman as no division bench could operate without the chairman at Islamabad headquarters. The chairman is due on Monday and would hold the DB on the same day in which he would hear the said cases.

All the cases had been filed against DGI&I, Islamabad complaining on department’s decision about customs duty and others.

The appellant had challenged announcements of DGI&I, Islamabad at the tribunal through the said submissions.
