ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal (FST) on Wednesday will hear more than a dozen cases carrying complaints of employees of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), challenging its policies regarding employees’ promotion and not implementing decisions of the FST.

FBR employees Naveed Ali Khan, Shahzad Muhammad Aamir, Zafar Iqbal, Gohar Ali, Asim Muhammad, Mehboob Ali, Waqar Ahmed, Sayyar Ahmed, Khan Hameed, Adam Khan, Noor Hussain, Muhammad Mukhtiar, Ahmed Hussain and Fazal Hussain had filed the cases seeking promotion to higher service scales.

They had pleaded before the tribunal that their promotions had not been granted to them in violation of the department’s rules and regulations. They submitted that they had served in the department for many years and still the administration was not ready to recognise their services. The prayed to the tribunal to direct the revenue board on the matters and ensure provision of justice to them in this regard.

Among the appellants, Muhammad Saleem had filed a case seeking implementation of the FST’s previous decision, which was yet not implemented by the board despite a lapse of months.

It is pertinent to mention that FST had formed this bench to hear the cases that were earlier heard by Muhammad Arshad Bhatti and Muhammad Javed Iqbal Kasi. Following the resignation of Member Arshad Bhatti, the tribunal administration had formed the new bench which was set to hear the said cases.
