Customs shows interest to share WeBOC software with foreign countries

KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs has shown interest in sharing the WeBOC software with the foreign countries after some changes and up-gradation.

Sources told Customs Today that the WeBOC software is one of the best softwares with regards to the database of different importable and exportable items and many countries have appreciated Pakistan Customs for developing such a software.

The sources informed that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has assigned a task to the Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed to visit foreign countries and conduct a survey for the WeBOC software.

Survey to see the market value and the need of the countries for the software like WeBOC, the Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer is expected to leave for Dubai during the current month, added source.

During the visit the Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmad will hold several meetings with the different IT companies in different IT exhibitions and seminars where WeBOC software will be the main focus.

There are some changes that the department is willing to place in the WeBOC software, after upgrading the software it will be completely ready to be shared with the foreign countries but before we share the software a survey is very important to be carried out to know the need of the foreign countries wants to be included in the software, added sources.

The sources without taking the name of the countries said that some countries have shown their interest in the WeBOC software.
