ISLAMABAD: A single bench of Customs Appellate Tribunal on Thursday adjourned hearing of three customs references carrying complaints against field offices of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Tribunal’s single bench comprising Member Technical Ziauddin Wazir heard the cases filed by Waqas Enterprises, Arshad Khan and Musawir Shah. All three appellants had challenged decisions announced by officers of Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad.
The bench adjourned hearing with directions to submit relating documents as the cases had been filed recently. The bench also asked the counsels involved to ensure their presence before the bench on next date of hearing for further arguments.
Earlier, the same bench had heard and adjourned hearing of cases Raja Nabeel Razaq and M/s Saifullah.
Razaq had filed case against Directorate General Intelligence and Investiation, Islamabad while M/s Saifullah had submitted a complaint against Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad.
The former appellant had prayed the tribunal to de-seize the imported (computer) accessories confiscated by the DGI&I officials. He had challenged department’s adjudication announcement before the tribunal which had sustained the confiscation.
M/s Saifullah had also challenged a decision of MCC and then sustained by the adjudication pertaining to the classification of goods he had imported from aboard. The appellant had prayed the tribunal that its pray was not heard by the adjudication properly.
