Sri Lankan customs dept seizes stock of expired mackerel

COLOMBO: A consignment of frozen mackerel fish of Norwegian origin imported from Singapore has been seized by the officers of the Central Investigation Bureau of Sri Lanka Customs.

Customs officials stated that suspicion on this consignment had been aroused as frozen mackerel of Norwegian origin is not usually imported due to its high value and when officers examined the consignment, they had found that the consignment contained expired fish.
