BADAPEST: Hungary’s foreign trade surplus rose less than initially estimated in August, latest figures from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Friday.
The trade surplus for August was revised down slightly to EUR 591 million from EUR 601 million reported earlier. In the corresponding month last year, the surplus was EUR 444 million. Both exports and imports grew by 12.0 percent and 11.0 percent, respectively in August from a year ago.
In the first eight months of the year, total trade surplus of the country was EUR 6.6 billion versus EUR 5.5 billion in the same period of 2015.
