ASO Sargodha impounds non-duty paid Siera Jiminy jeep

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha has impounded a foreign origin used Toyota used Siera Jiminy jeep model 1986 in Sargodha. The market value of the seized vehicle is Rs 1,200,000 while its customs duty and taxes value is Rs 800,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan received information that a Toyota vehicle is brought into the country through an unauthorized route and without payment of duty and taxes.

After receiving the information, Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendents Chaudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Bashir Ahmed, Ansir Saleemi, Mehar Ameer Ali Sepoys, Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Iqbal, Hafiz Naseer Ahmad, Muhammad Shafqat Mehmood, Sardar Hussain, Muhammad Mansha.

The ASO team intercepted the vehicle bearing registration number BA-6661 (Karachi), near Pull 111 Sargodha and asked the owner of the vehicle who was identified as Jazib Hameed son of Abdul Hameed resident of Raja Zulifkar Colony tehsil and district Faisalabad (owner) to produce legal documents regarding the import of the vehicle but the owner failed to provide the same. Upon his failure, the ASO team seized the vehicle and registered a case against him.
