Customs Appellate Tribunal adjourns hearing of 10 cases on Monday

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal’s division bench-II comprising Judicial Member Omer Arshad Hakeem and Technical Member Imran Tariq heard 10 cases and adjourned all of them until the next date of hearing.

The cases included those of Usman Ali versus Customs Sambrial, Abdul Rehman versus Customs Multan and Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad versus Muhammad Akram Chauhan.

On Monday, the Customs Appellate Tribunal heard cases, including Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad versus Arif Abdullah, Saeed Bukhsh versus Lahore Customs and Ahsan Mehmood versus Lahore Customs.

Furthermore, the tribunal heard the cases of Shiekh Ijaz Ahmed 05-Appeals versus Customs Lahore, Mian Aslam versus Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore, Muhammad Habib Khan versus Customs Faisalabad and Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore versus Mian Ahsan.

All the cases were adjourned for the next date, as not a single case was decided yesterday. In all the cases the counsels for the appellants appeared before the court and presented arguments. After hearing the arguments, the tribunal members adjourned the hearing of cases for the next dates. For the previous one month, the Customs Appellate Tribunal has not decided any case due to shortage of members. However, now both the benches have starts working properly.
