No room for corrupt officials at Port Qasim: Collector Mukarram Jah

KARACHI: Collector Port Muhammad Bin Qasim Mukarram Jah Ansari has asked the officials to initiate legal action against corrupt elements of the Collectorate.

Chairing a high level meeting in which additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors were also present, he warned that there was no room for corrupt officials in the Collectorate. He said that misuse of powers will not be tolerated.

Sources told Customs Today that the collector also advised the officials to keep a vigilant eye on the officials and send him a detailed report of any misconduct by any official or mishandling of consignments.

On the occasion, the officials briefed the Collector Mukarram Jah Ansari over the performance of the officials’ of the Collectorate.

It may be mentioned here that the Federal Board of Revenue-FBR have issued clear directives to all the departmental heads of all field formation Collectorates that they should have to take cohesive action against those officials who are involved in corrupt practices and damaging the national exchequer.

The collector Port Muhammad Bin Qasim has taken steps in the light of the directives issued by the FBR Headquarters, as the federal government has decided to eliminate the corruption from all major institutions of the government.
