SC orders FBR to submit report on Panama leaks by Nov 3

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan to produce details of investigation made so far in Panama leaks on November 3, 2016.

SC had summoned FBR chairman on Tuesday, while Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Inland Revenue (IR) Intelligence and Investigation Director General Khawaja Tanveer, Customs Intelligence DG Shaukat Ali and Legal member were also present in the court.

It is learnt that Chairman Nisar with the consultation of legal experts has started preparing report on Panama Leaks in the light of FBR’s investigations, besides taking services of retired officials, in this regard.

Sources said that the FBR will submit copies of notices sent in the wake of Panama and Bahamas leaks and their responses, while a report prepared by IR Intelligence DG Tavneer will also be submitted. The replies sent by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s sons to the FBR notices will also be part of the report.

Before submitting the report, a high level meeting with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is expected to be held on Wednesday to discuss various aspects in the matter.

Meanwhile, the chairman has cancelled all unimportant meetings in order to prepare the report for SC.
