SIALKOT: Sialkot Dry Port Trust Chairman Khawar Anwar Khawaja has said that smooth provision of export-related facilities and rapid clearance of export consignments resulted in record increase in exports from Sialkot.
Talking to a delegation of traders, he said that the Customs Collectorate, Sialkot Dry Port Trust and Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) are taking all possible measure to boost exports.
Chairman Khawar said that the one window operation and establishment of single examination assessment office at the shade yard of the dry port by the Collectorate earned confidence of the Sialkot exporters, as they expressed complete satisfaction over the facilities provided by Sialkot Customs.
He said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and exporters are getting full benefits of this increase in exports. He said that the exporters also taking keen interest in enhancing their exports from Sialkot and they are successfully motivating them to do their exports from Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL).
He said that exporters injecting fresh blood into the national economy by earning foreign exchange, playing their pivotal role in strengthening the national economy and boosting the national exports.
He pledged to leave no stone unturned for promoting the exports and imports through Sialkot Dry Port as the Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) was offering the special services. He said that the SDPT narrated that the exporters of Sialkot are the “roaming ambassadors of Pakistan”, who travel all around the world to fetch business with their personal efforts, the export earnings of Sialkot stand at $ 2 billion annually, which is six percent of the total exports of Pakistan.
He said that the exporters of SME’s should encourage to boost their export because SME’s are real back bone to strengthen the national economy of country. He said that the Customs Collector Ahmed Reza Khan and other Customs officials are purely co-operative while they guide exporters for best and latest export technology.
