Quetta Customs recovers three smuggled heavy duty generators

KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta has foiled many attempts of smuggling during the first two days of November and seized a huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel and narcotics.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Quetta Irfanur Rehman received information about smuggling attempt. He immediately constituted a team which established check posts on main entry and exit points of the city and started checking of vehicles.

During checking the customs team intercepted a truck and recovered three heavy generators. The team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents regarding possession and transportation of these generators but the driver of the vehicle failed to provide any relevant documents. Upon his failure customs team seized the generators and registered a case of smuggling against accused persons. Sources said that customs authorities already enhance their checking in the area to curb smuggling attempts. Sources said that due to increase checking in the area there is decrease in smuggling attempts.
