As per the details, Gwadar Customs Collector Saeed Akram received information that an attempt would be made to smuggle diesel to other city. The collector after receiving information formed a team of Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and directed them to establish check posts at exit points of city.

The officials were checking vehicles at Gulbai check post when they intercepted an oil tanker and recovered 18,000 litres of Iranian diesel.

The customs officials asked the driver to show documents regarding legal import of the diesel, but he could not produce the same; therefore, the officials impounded the tanker along with diesel and arrested the accused driver.

Value of seized diesel has been estimated at Rs 1 million. It was the second attempt of smuggling that was busted during the running month, November, so far. A case has been registered against the suspect under the customs laws and it will be sent to the Customs Adjudication for further legal proceedings.
