Islamabad Customs assigned Rs 1,108m target for November

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has assigned revenue collection target of Rs 1,108 million under all heads to Model Customs Collectorate, Islamabad for November 2016.

Talking to Customs Today, Collector Dr Arslan Subuctageen hoped that assigned target will be achieved, adding that the board has assigned target of Rs 436 million in wake of customs duty.

He said that the target for sales tax has been assigned to the tune of Rs 397 million; federal excise duty Rs 7 million and withholding tax (WHT) to the tune of Rs 268 million for the month.

He said that the FBR had assigned revenue collection target of Rs 1145 million, including Rs 407 million as customs duty, Rs 370 million as sales tax, Rs 129 million as FED and Rs 239 million as WHT, for October to the collectorate.

The collector said that Islamabad Customs collected Rs 2916 million against the assigned target of Rs 2829 million. It collected Rs 1120 million as customs duty against the target of Rs 1119 million Rs 1130 million as sales tax against the target of Rs 1017 million and Rs 594 million as WHT.

He said that the collectorate will use all possible measures to achieve its set target assigned by the FBR, adding that all subordinate departments like dry port, air freight unit (AFU) and Customs Preventive have been given targets.

He said that the department will utilise all of its efforts to meet the set target of November 2016 by expending anti-smuggling campaign.
