LISBON: New statistics out today have shown that unemployment in Portugal has dropped again in the third quarter of the year by 0.3 percentage points, in comparison to the previous quarter. Portugal’s Prime Minister António Costa said news of a “a new and sustained drop” is “good news”.
The Prime Minister was speaking during a meeting at Lisbon’s new Museum for Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) to take stock of the first six months of the National Pensions Programme (PNR). He described today’s figures from the National Statistics Institute as “motivating” and “reassuring.”
