Customs Preventive foils bid to smuggle smart phones from Allama Iqbal Int’l Airport

LAHORE: Customs Preventive authorities deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport have foiled two bids to smuggle precious mobiles of assorted kinds, sources told Customs Today the other day.

The sources said that customs authorities seized 44 smart phones during scanning from a passenger who was identified as Kamran Khan and was coming from Bangkok to Lahore.

Similarly, the customs authorities impounded 21 smart mobile phones from one Adnan Khan who was coming to Lahore from Dubai and had not declared his mobile phones for duty and taxes, sources said.

It was added that the customs authorities did not accepted any pressure and seized mobiles and also warned the passengers to be careful next time.

It was said that the mobile were valued at Rs 0.5 million which included all brands of android mobile phones of various companies.  The sources said that the customs authorizes after registering cases have seized the mobile in the name of state.
