KIEV: Ukraine is ready to increase the shipment volumes of grains, flour, vegetable oils, dairy and meat products, sugar, confectionery products, organic products to Palestine, declared the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Kutovyi during a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Palestine, Sufian Sultan. In turn, S.Sultan said that Palestine is interested in the imports of Ukrainian agricultural products through Israel, including cattle. T.Kutovyi noted that Ukraine is ready to accelerate the certification processes for Israeli permissions to transport Ukrainian cattle through the Israeli ports, according to APK-Inform.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in 2015 turnover with agricultural products between Ukraine and Palestine totaled nearly 13 mln USD. In particular, the exports from Ukraine totaled 13 mln USD (up 35% compared with 2014), the imports – 2 thsd USD (vegetables, plants, root crops). Ukraine mainly exported vegetable oils (8 mln USD) and flour (4 mln USD). During 7 months of 2016, the exports totaled 6.8 mln USD (down 24% due to decreasing of vegetable oil supplies).
