Robust programme being implemented for development: Shehbaz

LAHORE: Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that a comprehensive programme was being implemented for speedy development of the province and prosperity of the masses, and all out resources were being spent for this purpose.

He said that completion of public welfare projects was the priority of the government. He said that resources were a trust of the nation and were being utilized transparently for facilitating the masses. He was addressing a meeting to review implementation of development projects, here. Federal Minister for Railways Kh Saad Rafique and parliamentarians also attended the meeting.

The chief minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, all out measures were being taken for speedy implementation of development agenda in the province. He said that every effort of the government was directed towards progress and prosperity of the masses. He said that transparency, speed and standard in the execution of development projects was the hallmark of Muslim League-N government.

The chief minister said that international institutions were also appreciating the policy of transparency of the government. He said that a network of development projects was being laid throughout the province including Lahore and basic amenities would become available to the people at their doorsteps with the completion of uplift projects till 2018.

Reviewing implementation of development projects, Shehbaz Sharif directed that it should be completed within stipulated period while third-party audit should also be conducted. Members Provincial Assembly Mian Naseer Ahmed, Yasin Sohal, Secretary Law, Secretary Communication & Works and concerned officials attended the meeting.
