ICCI seeks modern police services in capital city

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by President Khalid Iqbal Malik met with Tariq Masood Yasin, Inspector General Islamabad Police in his office and called for introduction of metropolitan police system in the federal capital to provide police services at par with modern police of the world.

Waqar Chauhan AIG Special Branch, Sajid Kiani SSP and ASP Industrial Area were also present at the occasion.

The ICCI president said Islamabad police was considered role model for the rest of the country which was laudable. He said that safe city project has given a better sense of security to the citizens and added that introduction of metropolitan police system in Islamabad would further improve the law and order situation in the city.

Addressing the delegation, Islamabad Police IG Tariq Masood Yasin said that business community was driver of economic growth and police would take all possible measures to provide them a safe and secure environment for business activities. He said on assuming charge as IGP, he accepted safe city project as a challenge and thanked GOD for blessing him with success. He said during recent protests, safe city project was used effectively and it helped in maintaining law and order situation in the federal capital.

IG Islamabad Police that all police stations of Islamabad were being computerized to provide effective services to the people and it would help in resolving police related issues of the citizens more effectively.
