ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate, Peshawar collected Rs 20.06 million through cuction of confiscated smuggled goods that was held from November 10 to 15, 2016.
According to details, the customs presented vehicles, cloth, TVs, tea, cosmetics and other items for the auction. Deputy Collector Muhammad Zakir and other officials of auction cell supervised the auction process following the directions of Collector Qurban Ali.
During July 2016, the customs earned Rs 13.780 million through auction of different type of vehicle and confiscated goods. It generated Rs 19.951 million through auction of confiscated items during August 2016.
The Peshawar Customs deposited Rs 35.856 million to national exchequer after earning huge amount through auction of impounded vehicles and goods during September 2016. It earned Rs 17.07 million through auction of confiscated item s during October 2016.
Officials said that transparency has been maintained during the process, adding that all items and vehicle were sold for suitable price.
Islamabad ASO Performance:
The Anti smuggling Organization seized goods and vehicles worth Rs 9.144 million during second week of November 2016.
According to details, the ASO impounded three vehicles worth Rs 2 million, which were being used for smuggling, besides impounding two non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 4.314 million during the said period.
It seized 1300 kilogramme of foreign origin fabric worth Rs 676,200, 11460kg food grain worth Rs 1.164 million, tyres and tubes worth Rs 44,310 and 1350 cartons of cigarettes worth Rs 945,000
The ASO squad comprising Superintendent Zargham Dil, Deputy Superintendent Rana Shakeel, Inspector Asif and others conducted raids and impounded the smuggled vehicles and goods.
